Having taken early retirement from teaching in Scotland, I settled in the Languedoc to follow a second career in composition and writing. My biography 'Evelyn Dunbar: A Life in Painting', which came out in 2016, is a product of those Languedoc years and the source of many of these essays. I have now retired finally, leaving France behind and establishing myself in Cornwall.
