Christopher
Languedoc, France
Having taken early retirement from teaching in Scotland, I settled in the Languedoc to follow a second career in writing and composition. After several books about life in the south of France, I began a long-held project, a biography of the British artist Evelyn Dunbar (1906-1960), which appeared in 2016. The essays in this blog owe much to the research undertaken in this biography, entitled Evelyn Dunbar: A Life in Painting. Meanwhile composition has formed part of a rich musical life, involving conducting choirs, piano accompaniments and much domestic music-making.
